REPORT of the operations of the Emergency Committee from the 1st day of December, 1881, to the 25th day of January, 1882. Since the 1st day of December last the Committee have placed 23 Caretakers in charge of farms from which tenants have been evicted. These farms are situated in the King's County, Tipperary, Queen's County, Limerick, Wexford, Dublin, and Longford, on the respective properties of Mr. W. K. MARSHALL, J.P., Mr. W. POTTS, J.P., the Rev. EDWARD DENNY, Mr. JOHN CORNWALL BRADY, J.P., the Rev. ABEL WOODROOFE, Mr. HENRY WESTROPP, J.P., Mr. ROBERT FERGUSON, Q.C., Mr. HENRY OWEN LEWIS, D.L., (Ex M.P. for Carlow Borough), and Mr. T. A. CUSACK. During the same period 12 evictions were carried out in the King's County, on the properties of Mr. WM. K. MARSHALL, J.P., and Mr. W. POTTS, J.P., at which a number of men supplied by the Committee assisted the Sheriff. Nine other evictions were also carried out, under similar circumstances, on the property of Mr. R. J. BIRON, (Ex-M.P. for Bridgewater,) situate near Thurles, County Tipperary. On the 29th of December the Committee, on the application of the Agent of Mr. HECTOR MCNEILL, sent 7 men to assist the Sheriff of Donegal in executing a number of Writs for possession, on Mr. MCNEILL'S property, and the men were engaged for two weeks, during which time 40 Writs were executed. On the 12th January, the Committee were applied to by the Sheriff of the Queen's County, to supply him with men to assist in making seizures of Cattle, and they were at once sent, and were engaged for 6 days, during which time several successful seizures were made, and the full amount realized. On December 1st, an Agent of the Committee attended 9 Sheriff's Sales of Farms, at Thurles, at suit of the High Sheriff of the King's Co., (Mr. TOLER R. GARVEY), Mr. W. R. JONES, and other Landlords, for the recovery of an aggregate sum of £784 16s. 6d., when 7 of the Farms were purchased on behalf of the respective Landlords, one of Mr. GARVEY'S Tenants buying in his Farm for the full amount due (£66 15s. 9d.) and another Tenant of Mr. JONES, also purchasing his for £66, the amount due. On the 10th December, the Committee sent an Agent to Tullamore, to attend Sheriff's Sales in 3 cases, at the suit of the Hon. OTWAY TOLER, for the recovery of £338 18s., when all the Farms were purchased on behalf of the Landlord. On the 12th December, other Agents of the Committee attended a Sale of Cattle, at Riverstown, King's County, at suit of Mr. W. K. MARSHALL, J.P., when the full amount, (£110,) was realized, the Cattle having been seized by men sent by the Committee to assist the Sheriff. On the 16th of December, another Sale of Cattle took place at Nenagh, at which Agents of the Committee attended, and the full amount due (£72 6s. od.) was realized for the Landlord (Mr. CHARLES SPAIN).
