Decrees of 10th Provincial Chapter Held in Dublin July 1884. 7/3/11/3 7. The Venerable Chapter decrees a strict prohibition to all our religious engaged in Messions and Retreats, to use strong drunks - wines excepted - unless by permission of the Superior "toties quoties obtinenda." The Venerable Chapter furthermore decrees that our religious must not partake of strong drunks - wines excepted - before dinner "sub poena suspensionis ipso facto incurrendas", except in case of sickness and by special permission of the Superior, from the time of their departure for the Mession or Retreat until their return to one of our houses. This decree is hereby ordered to be inserted in the regulations for our Messions.11. This Venerable Chapter calls to the attention of all our religious the 14th Decree of the Compendium of Decrees of Capitular Chapters, drawn up in 1848, regarding the publication of books and printing matter, and urges on the Fr. Provincial the necessity of watching over its observance jealously.11. The Venerable Chapter likewise reminds all Superiors and urges upon them the necessity of observing the Decree of the 23rd General Chapter regarding extraordinary expenses and incurring debts -12. After the experience of several years in the practice of the Regulations for our Alumni, approved of "ad experimentum" by the Most Rev. Fr. General, Bernard Mary of Tesus, for their more perfect observance the Venerable Chapter recommends as a more fitting place for the Alumniats, the Retreat of St. Mary, Harborne.
