S P E C I F I C A T I O N OF WORK TO BE DONE IN FORMING NEW WING AT SOUTH EAST (FRONT) ELEVATION. BENEDICTINE COLLEGE - GIENSTAL. GENERAL :- Take down all old Buildings & back section of Tower abutting on front wall of south east elevation from Tower at Entrance gate, removing sufficient of Building adjoining Entrance inside gateway to allow for forming new Foundations. Select all stones, quoins, jamb stones, glass &c. &c. for re-use. The rubbish to be used for refilling to new levels. FRONT WALL :- Remove parapet wall (length 117 feet) and parapet wall of No.2. Tower. Remove row of corbels, cut down and form for new window opes to ground floor apartments. WINDOWS TO WALL & TOWER: Set new cutstone windows with proper vills, starts & bonds & lentils and mullions where shown, make good the masonry abound same with old materials, Grouting and bonding in a proper manner. All windows to be to Design as shown on Elevation Plans. CORBELS FOR CLOISTER ROOF :- Set in this wall 15" under cill level of new windows a line of stone corbels to take wall plate of Cloister roof. NEW WALLING TO FRONT ELEVATION : When Ground floor windows are set complete the walling is to be carried up at present thickness to level of 1st. floor ceiling. recessed at this level to form a wall 22" thick which will be carried up to Flat roof level. Old corbals reset at levels shown on Plan & wall recessed to 18" thick to form parapet. Built and finished as shown with stone or concrete (tinted) coping with openings formed and splayed & weathered base stones a l as per Plan.
