MISSION AT ST. PATRICK'S BEGINS Devotions Conducted By Franciscan Friars Will Continue Two Weeks THREE SERVICES A DAY Yesterday morning the two weeks' mission announced last week began in St. Patrick's church, South Beaver street. The mission was formerly opened with a mass and sermon at 7 a. m. by Rev. Father Stanislaus. The mass was followed by another mass and sermon at 9 o'clock by Rev. Father Thomas. A third mass, a high mass, was sung by Rev. James McGrath, pastor, at 10:30, and during this mass a stirring sermon was preached by Father Thomas. Last evening at 7 o'clock the evening devotions opened with a solemn procession, in which twenty sanctuary boys and five priests participated. This procession was followed by the public recitation of the rosary, after which Rev. Father Stanislaus preached a forceful and eloquent sermon. This week the services will be conducted for the women who are making the mission. Masses will be read every morning at 7 and 8 o'clock and each of these masses will be followed by a short instruction. Devotions will be held every evening in the week at 7:30, during which a sermon will be preached. Beginning Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock the children's mission will be held throughout the latter part of the week. Last evening a large congregation was present in the church for the opening exercises of the mission. Fathers Thomas and Stanislaus are two noted preachers who possess all the necessary qualifications of the great pulpit orator.. They are indeed exceptional speakers. This, coupled with their many long years of experience in giving missions, makes of them missionaries of the finest type. This mission gives promises of being the best ever held in St. Patrick's.
