Father Matt RyanTo the Electors of Longford Father Matt Ryan, P.P., Knockavilla, Tipperary, the famous "General" in the Land War Campaign, writes : DEAR MR. CRIFFITH, I ENCLOSE £1 TOWARDS THE EXPENSES OF THE LONGFORD ELECTION. I REGARD THE REDMONDITE PARTY AS THE INSTRUMENT OF FOREIGNERS AND CONSEQUENTLY THE RUIN OF IRELAND FINANCIALLY AND NATIONALLY. THAT WILL BE A HOPEFUL DAY FOR THIS COUNTRY WHEN THE SERVICES OF EACH MEMBER OF THE PARTY WILL BE CONFINED TO HIS NATIVE HEARTH. WHETHER THROUGH INCOMPETENCE OR TREACHERY BY THEIR NUMEROUS SINS OF OMISSION AND COMMISSION THEY HAVE DONE MORE HARM TO IRELAND FOR MANY YEARS PAST THAN COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IF EVERY MAN OF HER "ARMY AND NAVY" HAD BEEN THE SWORN ENEMY OF HIS NATIVE LAND. Vote for MacGuinness!
