May. 1951 DESCRIPTION OF WORKS The work consists of the construction of the necessary sub-structures and underbuildings, including Boiler Chamber and pipe ducts, in connection with the proposed New Church. The underbuildings, approximate size on plan 181'0" long x 84'0" wide will be carried up to over damp proof course level and will finish at varying levels of future floor slab, and these works will comprise the full extent of this Contract. The site of the proposed works is an area of relatively level open ground immediately behind the present Monastery buildings, which are approached by a private driveway one mile in length from the village of Murroe which is approximately twelve (12) miles from Limerick City centre. NOTE Contractors should note the presence of a suitable sand pit within the confines of the grounds and about half a mile distance from the site and which, if required, will be available to them free of charge. The Contractor will be required to provide for all getting out of sand, transport to site and for necessary screening and washing. - 1 -
