A T A B A R NATIONAL MEETING OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE BARONY OF ENNISHOWEN, held in the Town of CARNDONAGH, on the 7th August, Mr. W. M. ASHTON, of Derry, in the Chair. The following resolutions were unanimously adopted -- Moved by Mr. John O'Dogherty, Esq., Killygordon; seconded by Mr. Charles O'Donnell, P.P., Cleanmany; and by Mr. J. O'Brien, P.P., Cleanmany. Resolved --That the opinion of this meeting, on the subject of the Act of Union between England and Ireland, is in perfect accordance with the sentiments expressed respecting it by the inhabitants of Ireland generally --viz. that it is devoid of every feature with which every just contract should be invested to make it binding on a people, and that it resulted from fraud, bribery, force, and the violation of every law, human and divine. Moved by Mr. J. O'Dogherty, a personally; seconded by Mr. M. Devilin. *** That we do address our believed Sovereign, Queen Victoria, that she shall act of Union null and void, and by virtue of her prerogative to resumacite that legislature which was sent to the person of any gracy or present difficulty or destroy, in the subject of any render Ireland prespectory, and England secured in the affection of a larry people. Dernout, Martin. *** That the redress of the innermental grievances of which we justly complain can only be expressed from the paternal vigilance of a domestic legislature; and we here pledge ourselves to leave no constitutional means untried to secure that advantage to the people of Ireland.
