The Capuchin Annual There is no annual quite like the Capuchin Annual (price 5s), because its excellence sets a standard that leaves competitors far behind. Printed on art paper and containing copies of the works of famous Irish artists, it is an epitome of Irish culture. It is impossible to do justice to the riches that is contained in its 400 pages. Humour is represented by a selection of choice extracts from "Dublin Opinion" over a series of years. Poetry is well represented. The Constitution development of Eire is adequately dealt with in a brilliant article. Each of the four provinces has a section of the "Annual" devoted to itself. Beautiful photographs tell their own tale of charming scenes, and special articles deal with particular problems or claims of each province. Ulster, it is unnecessary to say, is adequately dealt with. An exhaustive and well-documented article by "Ultach," a well-known Northern writer, sets forth clearly and impartially the manner in which Six County Catholics are treated by the local Government. It is an article well worth keeping for reference. Mr. Padraig Gregory writes an informative article on Ulster's contribution to Anglo-Irish literature, although he does not exhaust the list of famous names. It the selection of an appropriate Christmas gift constitutes a problem for anyone, the "Capuchin Annual" should solve it.
