Pearse for the education of Ireland's youth, upon truly Irish lines. It still continues to work upon those lines. It feeds the minds of its pupils with inspirations drawn from the lives of Ireland's great saints, poets and patriots. It appeals to the individual, to the best that is in him, to his noblest instincts, and to his highest aspirations. It asks him to live on his honour. St. Enda's was housed in the Hermitage, Rathfarnham, until Easter, 1916. It had then perforce to remove temporarily to other quarters—to quarters hardly suited for its necessary work, Rich as it is in historic memories of Emmet, the men of '48, and the men who died during Easter, 1916, besides being splendidly situated at the foot of the Dublin Mountains, The Hermitage, Rathfarnham, is certainly the ideal place to carry on the work of its founder.
