- The parish became the first Irish Capuchin parish in California in 1923, following the friars’ initial missionary work in Oregon. Fr. Ambrose Brunton OFM Cap. served as the first Irish Capuchin pastor starting in 1923. Other notable Irish friars included Fr. Isidore Kennedy OFM Cap., who led the parish from 1954 to 1957. St. Anthony’s remains an active parish within the Diocese of Santa Rosa.
