COLLEGIO BEDA 67. VIA S. NICCOLò DA TOLENTINO ROMA 5 TEL. 40-281 6th. June 1934 The Very Rev. Gerard Francois O.S.B. Prior, St. Columba's Priory Glenstal Co. Limerick Dear Fr Gerard Your letter about Fr. Dillon arrived today. I can speak in favour of him without any qualification. He has worked hard during his time with us, he shows every sign of solid piety, and he has above all made himself most agreeable to the other men in the house. I think everyone likes him. As you know he came to us because having been brought up among older people he found he could not get on well at Wonersh where the students are mostly young. He appears to have made steady progress since the day he entered. I trust that he will continue to develop in your community. As far as I am able to judge you will find him a valuable addition to the monastery. I am glad to think that we shall be specially remembered in your prayers; we need such help for the delicate task entrusted to us at the Beda. I hope I shall have the great pleasure of visiting you some day, I have heard much about the house from Mons. Ryan and Sir John O'Connell. Oremus pro invicem Brank. & M. Duchemmer Rector
