PAX ET BONUM APRIL 1958 Introduction It has often been suggested to me to publish an occasional bulletin containing news items of interest in the Custody. I think it an excellent idea, and this is the initial attempt to put it into practice. In this issue I am merely using information which I happen to have with me at the moment. Threefold purpose My purpose in starting this newsletter is threefold: one, to accede to the requests made by many of the Brethren at the Visitation; two, to the we may all take a lively interest in each other's problems, endeavors and successes; three, to bring greater unity into the Custody member of the Custody, even though that he is a forgotten or isolated member of the Custody, even though we may be hundreds or even thousands of miles apart. Custodial Discreet The election of the Custodial Discreet to attend the Chapter cannot take place until after the election of the Most Rev. Fr. General on May 27. When the Custodial Discreet will be sent to the Very Rev. Fr. Provincial, St. Bonaventure's, Cork. Reservations have already been made with TWA for the Discreet travelling to the Chapter. Late Frs. Dominic and Albert The date set for the return of the remains of Frs. Dominic and Albert is June 10, when they will be flown from San Francisco via TWA. It is my intention to travel with the caskets to Ireland at that time and to return on Aug. 20, making the Visitation of the Brethren in the East on my way back. The bodies will be buried in our cemetery at Rochestown after the religious ceremonies at Holy Trinity Church, at which the Bishop of Cork will preside. Duggan's Funeral Service in San Francisco has charge of preparing the caskets for shipping. A Requiem Mass for the souls of Frs. Albert and Dominic will be celebrated at Bend and Santa Ines the morning of disinterment. General News Items Fr. Enda, a young priest, is now making preparations to come to the Custody. He is expected to arrive in the U.S. within a month.
