NEW CHURCH FOR LIVINGSTONE BUILT BY CAPUCHIN FATHERS THE new church of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, was opened and dedicated in Livingstone, Northern Rhodesia, on Sunday, March 19. The Irish Capuchin Franciscan Fathers, who assumed charge of the Livingstone-Barotseland Mission area only 18 months ago, have lost no time in erecting this beautiful church, the extreme need for which has so long been felt by the faithful of the district. It is the only Catholic church now on the 600 mile stretch of railway between Bulawayo and Broken Hill. The opening ceremony was regarded in Livingstone in the nature of a civic as well as a religious event in the town's history. The church was crowded to the doors and rarely has a gathering been witnessed so representative of all classes of the community.
