John Brosnan, Pastor * The hours of the Mission Services will be announced at all the Masses on the opening Sunday of the Mission. The members of the parish are earnestly requested to take an intense, active interest in their mission. These words of St. Paul are especially applicable at this time: "And we helping do exhort you, that you receive not the grace of God in vain. For he saith: In an accepted time have I heard thee; and in the day of salvation have I helped thee. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." —2 Cor., 6:2. Encourage your friends, Catholic and non-Catholic, to attend the exercises. HOW TO PROFIT BY THE MISSION What is a Mission? A Mission consists, First: In a course of sermons on the importance of salvation, on sin as the obstacle to salvation, on the great truths of eternity, on particular vices, the beauty of virtue, the mercy of God, the love of God for souls, etc. "I am not ashamed of the Gospel; for it is the power of God unto salvation."—Rom., 1:16.
