Office of the Minister for Finance Dublin, comments confidential 7 Mean Fomhair, 1938 2023-10-20/827 Dear Stephen, In relation to yours of the 5th instant regarding Glenstal College, it seems to me that a good deal might be done regarding the provision of machinery, tools and equipment if the College authorities would give an undertaking that they will be maintained in good condition and returned in the event of the College being discontinued or no longer recognised by the Department of Education. In my opinion, there should not be much difficulty in giving the undertaking. In addition, there is the possibility of providing a special increased scale of grant for a few years in order to enable the college to fully establish itself.
