(received 11 Jan.1954) Reverend and dear Father Prior, Reverend Mother Ignace, Prioress of the Servants of the Poor, of New Cross, will undoubtedly give you full details of their beautiful missionary work and alos of their hopes of a future foundation in Ireland. I could not add anything valuable to her own informations, but I should like to say that having known St.Michael's Convent for a long time, as alos the Mother House in Paris, through the Solesmes Congregation to which we belong, we have been able to appreciate the immense good done to souls and bodies by these most devoted nuns. I feel assured that their presence in the suburban districts of Irish cities would be a real blessing and help to the poor classes. Moreover, having personally had the pleasure of meeting Mother Ignace recently, I do not doubt that she is fully qualified to undertake such a work. Her past experience in France joined to her natural gifts render her most suitable for such a task. May I take this opportunity, dear Reverend Father, of recommending to your good prayers the intentions of our monastery "Pax Cordis Jesu" which had such close and happy relations with dear Dom Columba Marmion.
