14 January 1954. Dear Lady Abbess, 2023-10-24/854 Many thanks for your kind letter of recommendation for Mother Ignace Denis of the Servants of the Poor. As you know the difficulties of getting a foundation in an Irish diocese are very considerable, as there are so many religious Orders in the country already. In addition, I fear that it would be particularly difficult to get into Dublin. There is the added disadvantage that Glenstal is as you know in an entirely different part of the country : we are in Cashel & Emly : it is 120 miles by road to Dublin. However I shall consult the Seniorate here, and then do my best for Mother Ignace. It will be a slow business, even if she succeeds. All kind regards, Yours sincerely in St Benedict Prior.
