Telephone N° 1462. re Woodbyrne Offices 3 L. Kildave St. Dublin 28th day of July 1915 Dear Sir, We received your letter of 21st inst in due course, but which we must say we think most unsatisfactory. You gave us most unqualified assurances that you would pay the rent which became due in advance on the 1st of January last before the end of the half year, and now, not only has the half year passed, and another half year's rent became due in advance, but you make no payment even on account of this rent. It is quite out of the question to ask the Trustees to consider any reduction in your rent until the rent which is now actually due is cleared up, and we must decline to discuss any question of the reduction of the rent in future until the rent which has been due for over 6 months is paid at the old rate. We must ask you to let us have a cheque without fail for this amount within one week from this date, vizt, the 3rd of August, and we wish it to be distinctly understood that unless we receive £144 by that date, we shall issue Writage against you without further notice or application. Whatever arrangement may in the future be considered as to leaving you in possession for the present in Hermitage as tenant at a lower 2 rent, this must not be allowed to interfere with your obligation to pay the rent for the past half year.
