My dear Dr. Basimir, I have just received a letter from Bishop C'Bielf saying that he was on a work to the Messions under your care, and that it would require 3 priests to work them. He paramyloidly demands to know what I presume doing. Before answering this letter I want a formal report from you on the matter. First I all I want to know is there work for more than yourself, and do the Messions require the ministrations of more priests, and if so of how many? CAPUGHIN FRANCISCAN MONASTERY, ROCHESTOWN, CO. CORK. if this were a fact to mention it to the Bishop. Mindly reply by return. Jr. Glomes Min. Corone I am the Messions able to support in medievals - comfort more priests than yourself! 3rd What is the debt on your Messions? 4th What is your income, and what your expenditures? You can see for yourself the necessity of being in possession of this information before definitely answering the Bishop's letter. Further let me know are you able to support - and pay a decent servant, or have you to message for yourself? I have certainly no notion of sending out - more men until there is a prospect - of reasonable support - and comfort - for them. I presume that the growth of the Mession to such an endemous extent - as is represented by the Bishop's letter is due to your energy, and is not giving you any return as yet.
