Office of the Archbishop 1100 FRANKLIN STREET San Francisco, California Feb. 26th 1924 My dear Dr. Poorvineral, I have much pleasure in enclosing your cheque value £116. equal to $500. We have part finished Mission at St. Monice's which was very successful, thanks God. It was the first Mission I have held there. We begin in St. Francis de Sales next Sunday and have an enacting time between the Flaster. I have not even one day free except Monday & Tuesday of Nov Week. I hope we shall be able for the programme. One is expected out here when like a grandphone - always in a condition to teath. The best idea of what is expected may be obtained from the fact that I have proceed 50 6 times since arrival here Feb 11th last year. That our work is meeting appreciation is evidenced by the latest appointment. The Archbishop has assigned me to lecture in lateral in Church for Sisters of Nov Family. It is one of the big occasions in the Archdiverse, as it generally trips in about $6000. for the fund of the Sisters.The Historic Delegate is at present here. We received today with him this ev. in Dr. Denpsey pakand and tomorrow ev. in Jovessan Seminary Meado Park with all the Pastors. Unfortunately he has caught cold and cancelled the engagement at the last moment. Monsignor Contwell told me that he made particular engineeries about the work of the Capachins in Mendisin County, and was very interested in the Mission work. He expressed himself very interested in the Capachins. Mons. Contwell said that the Archbishop could not speak in Liper terms of all that the Capachins have done for his Archdiverse. I presume you will sell him in Washington on your way out. We return there immediately. We are both well, but a distance. We expect Dr. Clasinis on Saturday. My kindliest remembrance and heard for weirt, believe me by dear Dr. Poorvineral always dev. Followerently yours Dr. Thomas
