Rome 19: XI: 36 My Dear Dr. Edwin Your letter to hand. I expect you will have this by the time you meet in Dublin, but I shall send a Telegram in my case. I fol Dr. Thomas' application for a foundation in Roseburgh written 28th March 1913 and further I have an arthentic record of the Rescript granted for the Canonical foundation in Roseburgh with the parish arranged the core of souls in Doreplos Camby. The number of the Rescript is 1950/13 and it was granted on the 2nd May 1913. "S. Congregatio hereine ammit precious". Of course the Provincial got the actual Rescript and it should be in the Archives in Dublin, if it was not sent to Roseburgh itself. If you get Dr. Shanislans on the track of it, here ought to be able to find it. In case the Bishop should proceed, he will be faced with the Concession presented in the Archives of the Congregation. About the Constitutions, of course he has no right to have them. - At the same time I would send them to him as act of courtesy, observing that they are the cherter of an Old and all exempt Orker. He will find working in them to support his point of view and may be impressed by them. - There where we have right on our side, letters leave no wounds or burts as a result of the incident. In case you cannot find the Rescript you can communicate to the Steps, the number of the Rescript which I prese above, the original of which is the Archives of the S. Congregation, and the date in which it was given. I enclose the entry from the Enclosures of the Procura. I don't think you need anything else; if you do let me know.
