Cap., Capuchin Franciscan Fathers, Saint Mary of Angels, Church Street, Dublin, IRELAND. Very Reverend and dear Father Provincial: An examination of the Books and Order Accounts in our House at Lincoln showed that stipends for 926 Masses had been received - some of them, perhaps, a long time ago. These stipends had been used, but the Masses had not been said. And, since the grave obligation of having them said now falls on us, we decided to ask you if you would kindly request the Most Reverend Father General to have them said in Rome, and also to condone the stipend of $1.00, or more - if more has been received, by reducing same to 50¢ per Mass. A total sum of $465.00 is herewith forwarded to you, as stipends for above Masses. In order to raise this amount we have assessed our American Houses, and the contributions were as stated below. We made the burden as light as possible for our poorer Houses.
