As Bishop Manning's letter of April 1st indicates we will be allowed to put up the 8 classroom building now. So, may I ask that you petition Rome for permission for us to borrow the money needed. At most we would need $75,000. - When I made the visitation report Father Emilian had $16,000.00 on hand. He has now $19,000.00. So you can see how well the school is going financially. Owing to the unnecessary interference on the part of his Enfance, the building will cost $7000.00 more than it would have cost had we been allowed to contract for the 8 classrooms in the first place. May I repeat the request made in the visitation report for two good teachers to be on hand by Sept. 1st. We are going to have very keen competition from the Archdiocesan School when it is established and a good faculty is absolutely essential to meet it. I think we shall send 3 boys from the Parish here to Flintridge in Sept. They are destined for the Order. The Cardinal insisted that I appoint a Pastor in my place here. Father Finnian was appointed.
