Capuchin Franciscan Fathers 1541 GOLDEN GATE AVENUE LOS ANGELES, CALIF. November 18th. 1931 PHONE OLYMPIA 1305 My dear Fr. Secretary: As I consider your communications official, you will permit me to use in reply my old standby -the Typewriter- to save you the trouble of trying to decipher my caligraphy. Your very welcome letter of Oct. 31st. reached me here yesterday, and I must admit, it contained more news than I received in any letter, for a long time. I am very thankful for same. I am very glad to hear that the Pro. and you and our friends at the Hostel, are so well. Also I am delighted to learn of the progress that is being made in S.Africa. In regard to sending you Mass Intentions, I am sorry to say that we are very straitened out and hard pressed for such in this country at present. I have to supply a large number of the Houses here with Intentions, and this leaves us with a small margin. However, I shall try out different sources to try and secure some for you, as I know they need them in S.Africa. All the Brethren out here are now on the job, some like Fr. Vincent, not quite able yet, to make the grade in their new spheres, but after a while, I am sure, all will be acclamated.
