Probably by the end of Summer old Fr. [Alexander] Buckler will give up’.

Provincial, I am returning the Roman Documents for the Archives, and I have forwarded the Letter of Bishop Cantwell signed and sealed to the M. R. Fr. Procurator. This I did a few days after the receipt of your letter. As regards Sta. Ines the pastorwho preceded the present man had retired but not resigned and the Bishop received a letter from him saying he was able again to resume the work of the parish, whereupon the Bishop wrote to me to say that he could not put us in charge for the present, but that it was fail accompli that the Capuchins were to have the parish when the old man would fail or die, and this cannot be very long. I hope to visit the Houses starting the end of June, and then I shall forward you a Report of same. I had to invest in an Auto to get around our Parish here and to run in to Town. After our Missions we had sufficient to purchase a car = Studebacher. Fr. Casimer paid us a visit on Easter Monday returning last Friday to resume work on Sunday. I have not seen Fr. Thomas or Berchmans yet, I understand they are doing well. Fr. Urban has been in Hospital with Antrum infection of head showing an early nephritis, he is however nearly himself again. I am sending Fr. Clement to help out in Ukiah for the Summer. Fr. Benignus has had a number of Missions in Lincoln during Lent, Fr. Ambrose was under the Dr.'s care, he is better now.
