J. M. J. F. Franciscan Capuchin Friary Box 38 Matts, California December 28th. 19 24 My dear Father Provincial/ I enclose again another check value $200.00, for two hundred Masses. I hope you are feeling well after the Christmas Festivities. We got over the big Feast alright. We have got a glorious Crib in our Church this year, made by the Sisters, aided by the good men and women of our parish. Our Christmas collection was Bairly good, about $50, over last year, Of course we have not yet received a few big checks which I expect. So far we have reached the $450.00, figure. This will in part defray some of our many current bills. I have'nt yet received that staggering account from the Prov. Sec. Hope I wont for a long time. Fr. Albert has had a transfusion on Friday last from one of the good Sisters of Charity, St Vincent's Orphanage, where I visited when I was in Santa Barbara. Fr Dillon is Chaplain there, a very devoted man to Albert. He rested well the following night, and felt better than ever he felt since he came to the Hospital. I have'nt heard yet when the operation takes place. It may give him some temporary relief please God. I will go up next week again to see him and see how Reg. is doing at the Old Mission. I have no more to say just now, only that we are all very well, as also are those in the other Houses. I enclose a letter from Casimer, which you will be happy to read.
