I forwarded it at once to Fr. Sylvester for his views on the matter. To whom did you send the letter of the Archbishop? Was it Fr. Kevin or to me? 2). Re young priests and brothers coming home. Give them an obedience stating date of departure and return. If they require an extension they must apply to me. Also call their attention to the definitorial enanctment of Nov. 14th 1929 which is still in force i.e. that anyone who does not wear the beard will not be allowed to return to Ireland on holidays. Do not give an obedience to anyone who will not observe them. Also remind them that they must have the express permission of the Provincial to wear secular dress. They are also to apply to the Provincial when they return to Ireland as to the convent where they are to reside. This is important in view of the Eucharistic Congress. 3).
