CEDAR MOUNT, DUNDRUM. CO. DUBLIN. Feb 2/29 Dear D Douglas Hyd Your most welcome gift came into my hands yesterday evening On first right I found my regrettable ignorance of Grisk would shut me off from its enjoyment; but then I turned to the translations & was at home. I have always greatly admired & loved the Irish Hymn in our byrn at 1, & am now delighted to have the rich store your book spent to me. I hope to read one daily at Family Prayer. The collector is right in describing the spirit of the older Goels as 'warm hearted & dear-believing'. I hope the book may circulate widely With much gratitude for your kind remembrance I am very sincerely yours H Kingsmill Foore
