Capuchin Franciscan Friary Kilkenny, Ireland Dear Father O'Sullivan: I am very happy to have a letter from you conveying the information that you are back in your home land. But it is particularly gratifying to have you speak so kindly of our relations and of your love for the Diocese of Lincoln. Please be assured that these sentiments are quite mutual. I appreciate more than I can say the very gracious comments you make in connection with your experiences as a priest in our diocese. We shall never forget the very prudent manner in which you carried on under rather adverse circumstances. Your willingness to be helpful on all occasions elicits from us an expression of eternal gratitude. It was very thoughtful of you to send me little memories of two great Irish saints. I wish I had the courage of Blessed Oliver Plunkett and the prudence of Blessed Thaddeus MacCarthy. For your prayers I am thankful and in return I offer my own, unworthy though they may be. There were some press reports about the stormy Atlantic during the weeks when you were travelling. Such experiences can never be forgotten.
