I was interested to hear that the Irish Section of the Vatican Library is becoming one of the important departments in that great collection of books. The Marquis MacSwiney, who organised this Irish room, recently received a most appreciative letter from Cardinal Gaspari, in acknowledgment of a copy of the Dánta Dé, a collection of Irish hymns by the late Miss Agnes Young, which was sent to His Holiness the Pope in the names of the editors, Dr. Douglas Hyde and Dr. Robert O'Dwyer. Miss Young, whose book was mentioned in the "Diary" some months ago, when it was brought out by the Government Education Publicity Department, spent many years in the Gaeltacht gathering the religious songs from the people and arranging them for publication. At her death the Education Department, with the assistance of Dr. Douglas Hyde and Dr. O'Dwyer, prepared the book for the Press.
