TELEPHONE BALLSBRIDGE 417. NEWSTEAD, CLONSKEAGH, CO. DUBLIN. 2022-10-25/4084 April 1931. Very Reverend Dom Gerard François O.S.B. Prior of Glenstal, Co. Limerick. Very Reverend and dear Father, I must apologise for my delay in replying to your very kind letter of the 13th March. It found me in the midst of a very busy fortnight, and my private correspondence, unfortunately, has got into arrears. I was only too glad when M. Goor gave me the opportunity of associating myself with your admirable work of which I had heard from him many times. I do look forward to seeing your Schools some day. With regard to the prize for your Tombola in aid of your Chapel Building Fund, I shall be glad of a suggestion as to what would be a suitable prize to offer. My own idea would be a book of Sweep Tickets for the Hospital Sweep, for which there is a crazy demand at the moment, but perhaps that might not be agreeable to you. I was glad to hear that you think of coming to see me one day soon. We shall be at home during the week following Easter, after which I resume my hat work

When the Courts re-open, I can only safely promise to see people on Sunday 4 o'clock am. evening at home, but if you prefer to see me in town, perhaps you would phone to my Secretary at the Castle, Tel. No. 52141. Extension 28, to make an appointment. She will be able to tell you how I stand as regards appointments. Wishing your Tombola success, Yours very sincerely. (HUGH KENNEDY).
