Cody NOTED HOLY NAME MEMBER TALKS TO BUR'GAME SOCIETY At the pascal communion breakfast of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Angels parish in Burlingame, last Sunday, Mr. Anthony J. Matre, was presented and addressed the members. The Very Rev. Thomas Dowling, O.M. Cap., pastor, introduced him as the former head of the Holy Name Society, and told of the distinguished privilege that was his to preside at the assembly of over 300,000 Holy Name men at the Eucharistic Congress in Chicago. The speaker sketched the history of the Holy Name Society in a manner that stirred the spirit of his audience. He detailed the principles that prompted the sacrifices the Catholic people had made in building up their schools which are monuments of their faith. Next to the schools, he placed the Catholic press which he stressed is the duty of every Catholic to support and which he said is the only antidote to the poisonous atmosphere that the world is creating today.
