- General note
- ‘Gadelica’ was a short-lived publication. It was founded and edited by the influential scholar of Irish language, Thomas Francis O’Rahilly. ‘Gadelica’ sought to pursue and promote investigation into the area of Celtic studies, including philology. Articles focused on modern Irish language from 1600 onwards, and Irish literature also featured prominently. There were also reproductions and discussions of Irish texts from original manuscripts, both prose and verse, as well as folk songs and folk tales. The articles were written primarily in Irish.
