2023-10-04/769 The Presbyterian, Koonenga N. Ams. 4: III: 1938. My dear Father Prior, I went months after receiving your letter of 2/3/37 I set about sending you - reply to it. No long a silence on my part would seem to imply a great descriminatory. But it is far therewith. I may say, that not a single day has passed that the subject of your letter was not in my reflexions, and, because of its deep remoteness I did not wish to make a hurried or purely formal acknowledgement of it. I must, then, in the first place, thank you most essentially for your letter and for all it implied - as well as for constancy and friendship shown me by yours self and the community during my third week to Glenshell. I finally went to Mr. Paschal Robinson, the Apostolic Nuncis, a religious and Consultor of the Religious Congregation and a man of wisdom and goodness. Do my profound surprise he took the matter most conveniently. He asked me first to give him a Tremorandum upon the whole affair, which I did. He with the Amictor of the Nuncisters, then subjected me to a criticism or critical inquiry on every aspect of the project. He then appeared to think that I myself was mighty their foundation - whenever I werely wished his opinion as to its practicability. He considered any way that I should go on with the project. He wrote me two letters of expression - one to Ronaigno Fedacechi - a Consultor of the Congregation of Religions - & to Rev. Father John Philip Lang Don S.S.B., both at Rome, both friends of his & friends of one another. I had an angel to go to the Holy Land - but he angeled me a time was short - to go

II to Rome & have the idea leaved there. In addition. he personally went to the phone and arranged an interview between Fr. Krieman the Provincial of the Jesuits - Jublin - who is also Provincial of the Australian Pro. Province. I had this interview - but Fr. Krieman said it would have to be decided by the Pro. Provincial in Australia, Fr. Jaky S.T. (a friend of mine and ad friend in Rome for the selection of the new General). With reference to reflection and though Jr. Robinson's great company and goodness was most encouraging. I decided that I would not at this point go to Rome - first because I had not actually desperately ensulted the Archbishop's brief of this state about this mother and secondly - though Jr. Robinson was so encouraging - the personal problem have entered - nearly whatever (a) I am suitable for the religious life, (b) suitable to carry through this and entering (c) and whether I am really decided to do so.
