Collegio Beda Roma 28. 1. 33 2023-06-05/602 Dear Father Very many thanks for your letter. I must thank you also for your prayers that the Beshok would consent to my ordination at Laster. They have proved most efficient for I had a letter from him the other day saying that I might be ordained on Holy Saturday. I am expecting therefore to receive the diaconate on February 19th and the preston on Holy Saturday O.V. The Beshok rather alarmed me by adding in his letter that he thought I should do a full course in Rome which would mean returning here next year but I do not think that he will insist on that. He is coming out to Rome in May and I will speak to him about it then. I discussed the question with F. Brown who is in charge of the studies at the Longelio and he appeared to think that there would be no great difficulty in pinushing the theological studies privately. We have just heard of Dr Valeri's success at the elections which was a great surprise to me. I think his election will probably bring peace to the country but I am afraid it may mean a good deal of hardship for the people. We had our annual audience with the Holy Father the other day and I am enclosing a photograph of the Beda students

and the professors taken on that occasion. You will see that we are a varied collection of men. I was very glad to hear that Wuholas is getting on so well I suppose the new term has started by now.
