Collegio Beda Via S. Nicolo da Tolentino 67 Roma 24. 10. 32 2023-06-05/601 Dear Father I arrived here on Saturday evening last after a very enjoyable journey. I saw my bishop when I was in London and he was very kind and agreed to allow me to try my vocation with you at the end of this academic year. He said that he was quite sure that I would not stay and that he would be glad to have me back in the disease when I did come out of the monastery. This was more satisfactory than I expected as I thought he would press me to remain another year in Rome. Unfortunately the friend with whom I was travelling had not much time to spare so we were not able to spend as long as Belgium as we would have liked. However we stayed two nights in Marelous and liked it very much. I had a long talk with the Abbot who entirely approved of my writing tell after ordination to join Glenstal. One of the fathers who had been at Glenstal for some months showed us round the school of arts and crafts which was very interesting but unfortunately we did not have an opportunity of seeing the boys school.

We went out to Schoole also while we were in Brugos and spent a couple of hours there. We commence the annual retreat Tomorrow which burshes on All Saints day and then we commence work. The Director has brought to write for the necessary papers at once so that I am hoping to receive the sub-diacritic before the end of November. However there are many possible causes of delay so I will be quite satisfied if I can receive it by the end of December or even later.
