Scope and content
A wooden crucifix used by Fr. Theobald Mathew OSFC. The underside of the base has a manuscript annotation: ‘Father Mathew’s Cross, used in his sick calls &c and in cholera cases, 1831-2’.
Physical characteristics
Over-sized storage. The base has been crudely repaired and is loosely attached to the rest of the Crucifix with a nail. Very careful manual handling is required.
