Gantwell, Bishop of Los Angeles, for a Canonical Foundation, together with a Parish, in his Discesse, at Watts, Los Angeles, of which our recent Provincial Chapter approved, subject to the permission of M.R. Fr. General and of the Sacred Congregation. Kindly submit this application to the Most Rev. Fr. General and his Definitory on our behalf, and request their approval of it. If the request is favourably received, I shall feel grateful if you will present same to Most Rev. Fr. Procurator General, and ask him to obtain from the Sacred Congregation the necessary permission for the Canonical Foundation and the taking over of the parish of St. Laurence of Brindisi, in the above-named discess. I enclose cheque for five pounds, to meet any expenses that may be incurred on behalf of our Province. By an error of a Postal official, which he afterwards notified to me, the last letter was incorrectly stamped, and I apologise for the expense you were obliged in consequence to incur.
