December 19th 1937. Dear Father Custos: As there are thirty four Fathers at present in America, the number of Masses to be said for the intention of Most Rev. Father General by the Fathers in America during the year 1938 is thirty two, Fathers Bernard and Isidore being excluded. Please notify the Houses, and instruct the Superiors of each House regarding the number for which they are liable, according to the number of Fathers at present in their House. You will also please remind each Superior that the number of Masses allocated to each House at the beginning of the year holds for the entire year, independently of any change made in the number of the Fathers during the year.
