A novitiate was opened by the Irish Capuchins in Wilmington in October 1936. This building (know as St. Patrick’s) was later handed over to the Capuchin friars of the New Jersey Province in 1963. (The New Jersey Capuchins are part of the Province of the Sacred Stigmata).
