Vielen herzlichen Dank für die hochinteressanten Mitteilungen aus der jüngsten Tochtergründung in Irland. So sind ja alle Bedingungen gegeben, dass bald ein schönes monastisches Leben blühen kann dort & auf der ganzen grünen Insel der Heiligen. Leider habe ich noch nicht die Freude gehabt, Thren Stifter, mons. James Ryan hier zu begrüssen. Der liebe Herr ist uns natürlich zu jeder Zeit sehr willkommen. Und noch mehr der neue Prior & seine Mönche selbst! Die Bitte um den treuen Br. Pirmin möchte ich Thnen nicht rundweg abschlagen. Aber ich weiss nicht, ob er es noch wagen kann. Br. Pirmin ist immer noch schaffensfroh & gesund, aber er altert auch schon. Und zudem hat er hier für die nächste Zeit noch die Hände voll Arbeit. Erinneren Sie mich eben wieder in einem späteren Frief! TRANSLATION OF THE ENCLOSED LETTER THE ARCHABBOT OF BEURON BEURON, 6/12/1927 Dear Reverend Father Gerard François, Many hearty thanks for the extremely interesting news from the most recent daughter house founded in Ireland. It seems indeed that all the conditions are fulfilled to permit a fine monastic life to flourish there and in the whole green Island of Saints. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the pleasure of greeting your founding patron here, Mons. James Ryan. The kind gentleman is, of course, always very welcome here, as are, even more, the new Prior himself and his monks! I do not wish to reject totally your request for the faithful Br. Pirmin, but I do not know if he can take the risk. Br. Pirmin is still healthy and enjoys his work, but he is already getting old. As well as that, he has got his hands full of work. Perhaps you might remind me again in a later letter. With best wishes for you yourself and for the Irish foundation, I remain Heartily devoted in caritate SS.P.N. Benedicti + Raphael
