ARCHIVES OF OUR LADY OF ANGELS CHURCH CORTEZ AVENUE BURLINGAME CALIFORNIA by FATHER THOMAS - - - - - On November 15th, 1926 - the following official announcement was issued from the office of the Archbishop and published in the Monitor of date November 20th. "Very Reverend Thomas Dowling, O. M. Cap. Pastor of new Parish of Our Lady of Angels, Burlingame." An official appointment to the same effect reached Fr. Thomas simultaneously. I immediately went to the Archbishop's office and pointed out that the appointment was not in order, as the appointment should be made to the Order and not to an individual, and His Grace the Archbishop, Most Rev. E. Hanna D. D. handed me letter, copy of which is here inscribed. - 1 -
